The digital world is rapidly evolving, creating new legal challenges regarding copyright protection, especially in the absence of geographical boundaries and the widespread distribution of digital content online. This paper addresses the legal protection of copyright in the digital environment by comparing Iraqi and French law, with a focus on legislative texts and judicial trends. It also discusses the technical and legal challenges facing the protection of authors' rights in cyberspace, and concludes with a set of findings and recommendations aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of such protection.
