Mental health is a raising public health issue in the UK. Mental health problems arise due to various causes, however, one of the main issue is ageing and later life. Increasing prevalence has been noted in UK and worldwide. Mental health can occur in people at various ages, however, it has been reviewed that it is highly likely to occur with and increasing age especially on different situations where biological and psychological factors are associated with social life. The aging process is a non-reversible phase which is critical in a person’s life and simultaneously good health is a key factor that prevent psychological complications in older people. “UK inquiry into Mental Health and well-being in later life” is a promotion program that was established in 2003. There are 5 essential factors that have an impact on mental health with ageing: discrimination, participation, relationships, physical health, and poverty.
