Abstract - Cash Liquidity can be considered one of the most important indicators in evaluating the work of private commercial banks in Iraq to recognize the real size of cash liquidity which has been specified by the central bank of Iraq , so this work is focused on main issue which is the private commercial banks in Iraq are facing the failure to apply cash liquidity in line with real economic of this country in which the balance can be achieved between the obligations of these banks towards deposits and loans on one hand, and the risks that these banks might be exposed on the other hand.
The aim of this study is represented by identifying the ability of these banks in achieving main targets like liquidity, profitability and securing to solve the opposite issue between these targets and to determine the effective risk size on the cash liquidity.
To fulfill the aim of this work, a sample from Iraqi private commercial banks has been chosen which is (the Iraqi investment bank, the Iraqi credit bank, the middle east investment bank, the Iraqi commercial bank, the national bank of Iraq, the Gulf commercial bank) to estimate the cash liquidity through the use of financial statements for these banks in the period of (2005-2013).
By using the statistical system (SPSS) to estimate the cash liquidity results according to statistical calculations (arithmetic mean, root mean square deviation and deviation factor) and depending on (T) test, some of significant analytical cash liquidity results have been concluded which are: There is no mechanism for estimating the cash liquidity according to a unified model and the weakness of credit classification besides the rising of liquidity risks.Basing on these conclusions, a number of recommendations are made and the most important of which is: The necessity of activating a unified model to calculate cash liquidity by Iraqi private commercial banks in accordance with international standards and the Iraqi banking environment.
